About Tim

I am a professor at the University of Maryland in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. I earned a BS in Physics from Rutgers 1997 and then a PhD in Physics from Rutgers 2009 student under the mentorship of Dr. Helen Edwards at Fermi National Accelerator Lab. The following is a nice podcast about her as a person and scientist, Lost Women in Science: Helen Edwards.

I was the Director of UMD’s Nuclear Reactor & Radiation Facilities 2013 to 2019

I have been an Assistant Professor since 2019, this is a link to my official UMD Faculty Page.

My professional research is chronicled on the Koeth Research Group website.

Many of my, and my friends, serious amateur science projects are presented on our shared Nuclear Physics Lab site.
